Our Mission Statement

             As a nonprofit community association, Generation Tennis’ mission statement is to foster the development of tennis in the Belmont, Newton, Waltham and Watertown communities by developing under-12 youth leagues, in-school activities, training programs for families, and events that encourage tennis as an inter-generational family sport; In partnership with the US Tennis Association, to provide support for maintaining public facilities and to provide equipment to under-served youth and families that otherwise would not be able to take advantage of public or municipal facilities to participate in tennis. Generation Tennis projects that by providing the platform for small, community-centered tennis learning/practice/league-play groups, families will learn and play tennis as a sport as well as a social game; that by demonstrating the sports’ “portability”, tennis is an option for physical activity and fun for any age, anywhere!
